Associate Attorney

Susan F. Shapiro joined CWL in 2021 at the firm’s San Francisco office. Her practice focuses on maritime litigation matters. Prior to joining CWL, Susan practiced at a national law firm in San Francisco where she worked on maritime and non-maritime general liability matters, as well as environmental, toxic tort, landlord/tenant, and professional liability cases. She has experience representing individuals, public entities, and corporate clients in diverse civil litigation matters.

Susan received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law where she served as an Articles Editor for the Santa Clara Journal of International Law and President of the Environmental Law Society. While at SCU, Susan travelled to Belize with the International Human Rights Clinic and contributed to an amicus curiae brief before the Inter-American American Commission on Human Rights. Susan also completed a summer clerkship in the Family Division of the Santa Clara County Superior Court.

Susan’s diverse experience and interests, along with her personal and thoughtful approach lend a valuable perspective to all her clients.
