Juliette B. McCullough is a partner at Cox, Wootton, Lerner, Griffin & Hansen, LLP. She is admitted to practice law in all State and Federal courts in California and Hawaii. Ms. McCullough’s work is focused on maritime litigation and maritime commercial transactions.
Ms. McCullough has extensive experience litigating Jones Act claims and broad navigation experience which makes her especially qualified to handle collision/allision matters. As a former seafarer, she understands the maritime industry, crew dynamics, and the realities of operating a vessel. In addition to representing and advising operators and owners of ferries, tug boats, and the ocean shipping industry, she regularly advises charter yacht and sailing companies. She has a nuanced understanding of the small passenger vessel industry.
Ms. McCullough has obtained numerous summary judgments and dismissals for her clients. She provides efficient resolutions and reasoned advice to avoid litigation, as well as guidance and counsel regarding business practices and transactions.
Ms. McCullough earned her J.D. degree from U.C. Hastings College of the Law in 2011, graduating cum laude.
Ms. McCullough graduated from Wellesley College magna cum laude in 2004 with a B.A. in Environmental Studies. While at Wellesley, she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and was a member of Wellesley’s NCAA Cross Country team
Ms. McCullough has worked as a watch officer on numerous US Coast Guard inspected sailing vessels. She has substantial blue and brown water sailing experience.
Ms. McCullough also serves as the Secretary for the Board of Directors at Call of the Sea, a non-profit educational sailing organization based on Sausalito, California.
Ms. McCullough serves as a Vice-Chair for the American Bar Association’s Admiralty and Maritime Law subcommittee. She has previously served as the Secretary for the San Francisco Marine Claims Association.
